Kundalini yoga is a practice that allows relaxation as well as the awakening of self-awareness.
This form of yoga has existed for a long time but it found a second wind in the 1970s with Yogi Bhajan. This Indian was part of a wave of sages who arrived in the United States at that time. In 1968, in Los Angeles, he taught the Woodstock generation that there were other ways to reach a world of fullness instead of using substances that are dangerous to health. Yogi Bhajan took various elements of yoga as it had been taught for years in India and brought them to the Western world. He didn't invent anything but selected the exercises that he believed to be the most effective and made them into a discipline that he called "Kundalini".

A Kundalini yoga session lasts between 1 hour and 1h30.
It can be practiced alone or in a group, preferably in the morning, although Kundalini is one of the only yoga that can be done in the evening. In a sitting position, we work a lot on the breath with pranayama (the control of vital energy through the breath), making a distinction between breathing in through the right and left nostrils. We make movements with our arms and body in a rhythmic way, we sing, we use mantras (positive messages), we meditate... In short, we become fully aware of our body and mind. It is a form of inner spirituality.
